Before the magnificent building at Ossenreyerstraße 8-10 could open on December 5, 1903, space had to be made. This was to take place in July 1902. An advertisement in the Stralsundische Zeitung newspaper on June 12, 1902 sought suitable service providers: Contractors capable of providing security deposits are requested to send their bids with the shortest demolition time to the construction office in Berlin by June 18. That didn’t leave much time to formulate a bid, taking into account the time required for postal delivery.
