The brothers Abraham and Theodor Wertheim opened a “Manufactur- und Modewarengeschäft” at Wasserstraße 14 in Stralsund 170 years ago on April 15, 1852. This store was the forerunner of the later Wertheim empire. Our association is taking this anniversary as an opportunity to once again present the exhibition “The Jewish merchant families in Stralsund”. It is embedded in the series of events of the Kreisvolkshochschule Vorpommern-Rügen “Jewish life in Vorpommern”.
