Leonhard Tietz cabinet donated

June 16, 2024 marked the successful conclusion of a project that began in April of this year with an inquiry as to whether the association would be interested in a cabinet with an identification plate from Leonhard Tietz’s Cologne department store. We answered in the affirmative – and so the project began. The wardrobe came from a family estate and was part of a complete bedroom suite with beds, bedside tables and a chest of drawers with a wash basin. It was first located in Wuppertal Elberfeld, then later moved within the family via Munich to Freising near Munich. It was purchased between 1910 and 1930, so it must be around 100 years old – but it is still in very good condition. It was donated to the association by Mrs. Ingeborg Prasch, to whom we are very grateful. Our association organized the transport and now also the storage. We hope that we will soon be able to make it the centerpiece of an exhibition.
